INGREDIENTS
- 750 g ground beef
- 1 onion 1 clove(s) of garlic
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 4 tablespoon(s) olive oil
- 1 tablespoon(s) sugar
- 2 tablespoon(s) tomato paste
- 100 ml red wine
- 400 g canned tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 bay leave
- For the béchamel sauce
- 100 g butter
- 100 g all-purpose flour
- 1 liter whole milk salt pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) ground nutmeg
- 100 g hard cheese, grated
- 1 egg
- For the pasta
- 1 package pasta no 3
- 30 ml olive oil
- pan measurement 45.5 x 37
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place a pan over high heat.
- Add 5 tablespoons of olive oil, the finely chopped onions,
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar and oregano
- Add the garlicand continue to sauté 3 minutes .
- Add the ground meat.
- Add the tomato paste and sauté for at least 2 minutes.
- Add the wine and let the alcohol evaporate.
- Add the canned tomatoes, cinnamon, sugar,and bay leaves.
- Turn the heat down to low and simmer for 10-20 minutes,
until the sauce reduces and the ground meat is cooked. - When ready, remove from heat. Discard the bay leaves and set aside until needed.
Béchamel sauce
- Heat the butter in a pan medium heat.
- As soon as it melts add the flour.
- Beat with a hand whisk and sauté the flour
- Add the milk, in small batches, whisking continuously so that no lumps form.
- When ready, remove from heat and add salt, pepper, nutmeg and the grated cheese.
- To complete, add the egg and whisk to incorporate.
Pasta
- Boil the pasta in salted water according to package instructions.
- Assemble Preheat oven to 180* C
- Baking pan spread the pasta Sprinkle cheese.
- Spread the ground beef sauce Sprinkle cheese
- Spread the Béchamel Last, sprinkle the grated cheese over the top.
- You can also add some small cubes of butter.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the béchamel turns golden brown.
